"The Tree Cropper" is the NZTCA national magazine, our flagship publication, and the communications backbone of our organisation.

It is included in your annual membership fee, and is delivered approximately quarterly to all members.

Actinidia arguta, lately referred to as the kiwi berry. A smooth-skirted, sweet, green, baby kiwi fruit.
Bottom -
Mespilus germanica, Medlar. A pipfruit from the Middle Ages, similar in appearance to a small apple. Astringent until fully ripe with a distinctive taste.

Cover: The involucre and nuts of the Turkish hazel as found on Conference 2006 field trip to Gordon and Heather Tarrant's property. Corylus colurna, is one of the hazel species that grows as a tree with a single trunk (no suckers). Has been used as a rootstock for normal hazels. A wonderful ornamental tree with better yellow autumn colour than the normal hazel, C. avellana. Fingers - Nick Nelson Parker.
