Is anyone having success growing pecans in Northland? We would like to try growing them, we are just north of Whangarei.

Replies Received:

No reason why you can't Pecans need moist ground, summer sun and very good wind protection. They will enjoy winter floods over their roots but do not like swampy soils. We have them nutting here.
