Information Request:

For the last couple of years I have been trying to get a Gala Apple tree, preferably dwarf. But all anyone seems to know now is the Royal Gala.

Is there any lilelyhood of anyone growing the Gala Tree for sale. I did order, but as I said, was offered the Royal Gala. (and was told all that was different was the colour! Hohum)

I look forward to hearing from you. I hope you have the time to answer.

Thank you

Heritage Trees catalogue lists over 60 varieties, but excludes both Gala types. Ph 03 544 4345.
Perhaps they know who does do Gala.

Diacks Nurseries list about 40 varieties, including "Royal Gala", and duals: 'Peasgood Nonsuch / Royal Gala" & "Gala / Cox's Orange". Ph 03 216 8265. This suggest they have access to Gala scion wood. If the latter dual is indeed Gala, and you are desperate, you could buy it and cut the Cox's Orange off.

Some of these specialist propagators will do a tree especially for you for the following year.
