Ballantyne Road, Wanaka
On this field trip we’ll be investigating the multiple purposes of trees in the landscape.
We’ll tour a property that started out as a bare paddock 12 years ago – a place to plant trees – and is slowly turning into a diverse small-holding.
Goats, hens, firewood, home orchards, plant propagation and cash crops will all feature.
There will be an emphasis on designing for shelter.
Invitation to Localising Food Workshops
December 6-7th and 8-9th
A national tour based on creating food security and local food production is coming to Wanaka.
If you haven’t yet read anything by Joel Salatin, or read Michael Pollan’s “The Omnivore’s Dilemma” then get down to your local library a.s.a.p. Then make your way to one of these workshops.
Facilitated by Robina McCurdy – a legend in NZ and overseas in the field of edible landscaping – these will be exciting workshops open to the community.
Outside our region, but not too far away, these workshops are also offered in Dunedin, Riverton, and the West Coast.
