New Zealand Tree Crops Association

Letter from the Patron, Hazel Nicholls - 3 April 2006

Good morning members. What a wonderful opportunity to write to you all on the eve of what appears to be another good tree cropping weekend. Apologies from Jock and me for the AGM and conference.

I have read all the reports and am very impressed with what you have all been doing. I thank Diana, John and Andy for their reports. You have done a sterling job Diana. Thank you to all Branch Presidents for what you do for the Branch members.

Tree Croppers must be very busy people or there would be more at field days. Do you advertise them? Make friends with your rural reporters, both radio and newspaper. An advertisement in the gardening section usually reminds members and encourages a few others to attend field days etc.

I am surprised there are no remits this year but that could be a good thing. You know the old saying, “if it's not broke then don't fix it”.

However, if you launch a membership drive I will do all I can to help.

Have a good conference and my very best wishes to you all.

Hazel
