1-3 April 2011   —   Edible Landscapes

A celebration of diversity across our Hawke's Bay region.

EDIBLE LANDSCAPES – TREES, FOOD AND US

This was a superb event, archived below for your interest:

“Hawke's Bay branch is delighted to be hosting the 2011 Conference and we truly hope you will make the trip to us this autumn so we can share our region with you.

It has been 31 years since a Conference has been held in the Bay and things have certainly changed a bit!

We have a rich and long history with growing productive trees, from the first plantings of fruit trees on Napier Hill in the 1840s up to today with about 5500ha planted in fruit trees providing work for thousands, and income of over 250 million to the Bay.

But as well as this huge, commercial industry, there are also passionate individuals who are creating diverse, resilient properties with an eye to longer term goals.

We hope to share with you some of our regions most interesting properties, with pre conference self drive tours, two afternoons of field trips and also an extensive post conference tour heading north through Gisborne and the East Cape.

So get out your calendar, and book some holiday time for the beginning of April. We look forward to seeing you here!”
