Basic Brewing – Matapiro Road – Sunday 24th March 10am-12noon
An opportunity to learn how your Treecrop harvest could be turned into delicious fruit beverages such as Cider, Liqueur, strong spirits, cream liqueur and fruit preserved in liquor (e.g. peaches in brandy).
The workshop commences with a tasting session of some of the liqueurs that Brian has recently made, then he will talk us through the different stages of the process.
The main focus of this workshop will be on practical basic brewing.
To achieve this the workshop will be set out so we can prepare some fruit
and start fermentation – hopefully for cider, wine and spirits.
We will be shown a batch that is already fermenting, and then be taken through the distillation process and see the still in operation.
Take your lunch etc. if you wish to stay for an on-site picnic together afterwards.
Vehicle parking inside the gate. Event held under cover. Toilet available at the house.
