Place:       Egmont Road (turn up towards the mountain), Egmont Village

The organic garden at the 3 acre property situated on the slopes of Mt Egmont/Taranaki was started approximately 15 years ago from bare paddocks. Dexter cattle and Zoro the horse graze the remaining paddocks. The cottage garden will provide a lovely setting for lunch.

& WOODLEIGH NURSERY

Date: SUNDAY 7TH MARCH 2010 - SECOND PROPERTY
Place:       Woodleigh Nursery, South Road Oakura, SH45

Glyn is a collector of plants from mainly China as well as Asia and has the best collection of hydrangeas in NZ. There is one ancient remaining apple tree on the property bearing 3 - 4 grafted varieties waiting to be identified. This is the last remnant of an orchard dating back approx 100 years which was dealt to by horses. This magnificent, acclaimed 10 acre woodland garden nestled at the base of the Kaitake Ranges, is open annually in the Taranaki Rhododendron Festival attracting many visitors. In Glyn’s words there is plenty of ‘weird and wonderful’ to see.
