Web management notes - web standards and browser software
We attempt to present "standards-compliant" web pages for your fulfilment.
Unfortunately, the most commonly used browser is still the least "standards-compliant".
This is the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser installed by default with Microsoft Windows.
About half our time is spent attempting acceptable display of our pages in Internet Explorer.
Sometimes we just walk away - weed the garden, go pay some bills even - postponing the repeated battle with some of its quirks.
We recommend you use a web browser which is more "standards-compliant" to see our web pages presented as intended.
At the time of writing these include Firefox, Opera, Safari and Chrome.
We look forward to MSIE8 being a much more standards-compliant browser, hopefully.
Microsoft have reportedly contributed some great ideas to the standards community.
We hope the old attitudes of divide-and-conquer will further give way to more co-operation, and predictably better browsing experiences for us all.
